Meet the Artist Carrie Dearing

Carrie Dearing is an internationally known gourd artist that has been
woodburning for 19 years and teaching gourd art classes for about
8 of them.
Being a proud Mother of 3 little boys as well as recently winning a
11 month battle with a stubborn malignant tumor, she has come to
learn two of many important things for her life:
One is knowing that God is her strength through all things. The
other is that fitting in the time to do her artwork and teaching her
classes has been not only very therapeutic, but necessary for her
spirit.
Carrie just could not imagine her life without her artwork and
teaching her craft to others.
Her Mother, Pamala Redhawk, is also a well-known gourd artist
and teacher. Pam got her started working with gourds many years
ago and she has not been able to stop since. Carrie considers her
Mother a mentor and an inspiration to do her very best at whatever
she does. And to do it with a smile on her face and with God in her
heart.
Being of Irish/Choctaw decent, Carrie takes her inspiration of Native
American design and nature to create her one of a kind gourd art
pieces.
Her wish is that you take in and enjoy her creations. And that it
motivates you to take one of her art classes so that you too can
duplicate what inspires you through your walk in life.
May God bless you in whatever you do!
